Vitamin D / Vitamina D, chiamato pure calciferolo, è una delle vitamine di tipo steroide che è indispensabile per lo sviluppo del Sistema scheletrico e del bilancio dei minerali nel corpo umano, particolarmente del calcio. Esistono diverse forme di questa vitamina, alcune delle quali sono precursori della vitamina D attiva. Le forme più importanti sono la vitamina D2  o ergocalciferolo e la vitamina D3 o colecalciferolo.

Il dosaggio della vitamina D nella forma 25 OH  rappresenta il metodo più accurato per stimare lo stato di replezione vitaminica D .
